Startup Nation, Meet:
Emily Clark, MS, MSW LCSW
Mike Michalowicz.png

Emily Clark is a former private practice therapist who decided hiding herself in the name of "professionalism" was taking the humanity out of therapy. With a neuroscience degree from Harvard University and one in social work from Boston College, Emily seeks to know all she can about the workings of the human mind and heart, including how authenticity leads to more joy, easier boundary setting, and soul-level healing.

At the time we are recording, Emily has run 28 marathons and isn't stopping anytime soon AND she is embarking on a new venture about Truth and healing called The Body Sovereignty Project. She has also convinced Katie that unicorns might be real.

Show Notes:
  1. How authenticity is different than lacking boundaries or oversharing

  2. Being authentic at work helps me remember I'm more than a therapist

  3. The hardest time to remain authentic is when things in the news/media that are triggering my clients are also triggering me

  4. Integrating even more into my authentic self as a therapist has led to seeing other ways I needed that integration and that led to the Body Sovereignty Project
