startup nation, meet: Dr. Jessica Lamar, Dr. Connie Zollner, & Elizabeth Abbruzza

In 2022, therapists and close friends Jessica, Connie, and Elizabeth embarked on a journey to create a safe, nurturing space focused on trauma recovery. Together, these friends-turned-founders worked to create an environment that encourages personal growth alongside genuine human connection. Fueled by their shared vision, they founded the Bellevue Trauma Recovery Center (BTRC).

The BTRC became a passion project that combined their expertise and unwavering commitment to informed, ethical, and compassionate care. The BTRC was carefully curated as a space where individuals can find relief and support on their path to recovery and resilience. The BTRC instills hope for those seeking healing from past traumas through innovative therapeutic approaches and a nurturing environment.

Jessica, Connie, and Elizabeth envision each person leaving the BTRC with a renewed realization of their inner strength and increased self-trust. The founders and clinicians at the BTRC hope that each person who receives treatment from us will leave knowing they possess the resilience necessary to navigate life’s challenges.

We had the pleasure of hosting Dr. Jessica Lamar, Dr. Connie Zollner, and Eizabeth Abbruzza on the topic of: "The Art of Navigating Business Partnerships with Finesse".

We discussed how they started their partnership, their roles, responsibilities, fears, challenges, and shared vision for their group practice - Bellevue Trauma Recovery Center.

As business partners ourselves for the past 10 years, Katie and I was to reiterate that it's important to be in alignment with your partner, identify your strengths, and have good communication as you navigate different seasons of life, challenges, and the ever-changing world of business.

  1. Navigating the evolving relationship between the three of us (we were business partners first).

  2. Identifying roles that highlight strengths, and outsourcing things that aren't our strengths.

  3. Openness to looking at yourself, vulnerability with each other, self, being in own therapy.

  4. Trust (how to build trust) in each other and continuing to learn to let go of control, trusting each others intuition.

  5. Continue to check in about goals, business planning, etc.
